Communication has become more efficient than before because of the advent of internet. The social networking sites have also played an elementary role in bridging boundaries and crossing the seas and bringing all people at a common platform where they can meet likeminded people or find old friends and communicate with them. It has become a potential mean to relation building and staying in touch with all known. Hence the objective that we wanted to achieve through our research is to: Find out the impact of social networking sites on the youth - how it affects their activities, what are its uses for each individual, how have they been influenced by these sites, how are they benefited and how are they detriment by this sites. RESEARCH METHODOLOGY: A significant quantity of work has been done and several articles are available on the internet and magazines about the social networking sites. So first we carried out a literature survey of the available data for gathering secondary information.
